First-generation GLA production straddled a Mercedes electronics update, which is why one small crossover can hide two different command systems. Our order form for the 2014-2018 GLA lists NTG 4.5, found on 2014 and 2015 cars, and NTG 5.0 or 5.1, found on 2016 through 2018 cars, and the kit is assembled around whichever you select because each generation uses different connections at the display. For cars built close to the switch, the reliable check is the on-screen menu layout, compare yours to the reference images on this page, or send a photo of the screen and radio controls to our team and we will identify it for you. Coverage ends at 2018, ahead of the fully redesigned successor, which runs a newer factory platform our kits do not support.

In a compact crossover the rearview camera might be the single best add-on, and this kit's optional flush mount unit sits above the license plate on the GLA's tailgate, feeding a wide 170 degree image to the factory screen.

The adjustable lens alternative is there for anyone who wants to aim the camera from a different spot on the hatch or bumper, or whose car sits at a non-stock height.

If you park by feel in tight city spots, the front camera input helps too, appearing automatically when you leave reverse. The view steps back on its own after a fifteen second pause.
