Upgrade your OEM MERCEDES BENZ screen with our MERCEDES BENZ GL Wireless CarPlay / Android Auto System. This system is compatible with 2013-2019 GL & GLS Mercedes that are equipped with NTG 4.5 and NTG 5.1 command systems. This comprehensive video interface module will integrate all the features of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto onto your existing Mercedes GL command system. Once installed, the system is ready for use without any dealer activation or coding required and DOES NOT require any cutting or splicing of OEM cables.
Three rows, seven seats, and one more name change, the full-size GL became the GLS partway through the years this kit serves. Built for the 2013-2019 GL and GLS on the X166 platform, our interface adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to the factory COMAND display without replacing hardware or cutting into a single loom. The module works behind the screen through existing plugs, keeping the family hauler's electronics factory-intact while its big center display finally runs the apps your phone does.

Under the GL badge, X166 trucks from 2013 to 2016 run the NTG 4.5 command system. When Mercedes renamed the line GLS for 2017, the same generation continued with NTG 5.1 through 2019, and this kit handles both systems, which is how a single product page covers 2013-2019 across two names. Support stops after 2019 because the next generation, the X167, launched on MBUX, a newer factory platform this interface does not support. NTG 4.5 and NTG 5.1 need different harnesses behind the display, so the order form asks for your command system before checkout. If your build date sits near the changeover, verify by the look of your on-screen menus, then order with confidence.
Road-trip duty is where CarPlay earns its place, live traffic and streaming audio for three rows of passengers without a phone mount blocking the dash. Phones pair wirelessly over Bluetooth, and a USB cable ships in the box for charging or a wired link on long hauls.

Everything arrives with the correct harnesses for your command system, installs behind the head unit, and leaves the rest of the truck untouched. That includes the factory buttons, which continue to choose apps, change tracks, set volume, and summon Siri or Google Assistant on iOS or Android.
On a vehicle this long, backing into a spot is the daily test, and the optional cameras here report straight to the factory screen, with an OEM integrated tailgate handle unit offered on select builds, confirm eligibility with us before ordering.
The flush mount camera installs above the license plate and sees a wide 170 degree field in most lighting, while the adjustable lens model lets you angle the view for bumper mounting or a modified ride height.
A front camera input rounds out the package, coming on automatically as you exit reverse and switching away once fifteen seconds elapse.

Our integration systems connect to the factory command system currently in your vehicle. Therefore, it is imperative that we know which command system your vehicle is equipped with in order to ensure we send the correct wiring for your vehicle. Below are examples of the user interfaces of the different Mercedes Benz command systems.
THE COMMAND SYSTEM IN YOUR VEHICLE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE YEAR.
Please note that the years listed are the year ranges of Mercedes Benz’s that typically have the corresponding command system. However, the year can vary slightly. Therefore it is more accurate to identify your command system based off of the design of the user interface. Please call or message before ordering if you are unsure of your command system. You can send a picture of your radio controls AND screen (while the vehicle is on) to sales@emeraldintegrations .
