This OEM Integrated BMW Rear-View Backup Camera kit fits all 2004-2019 BMW 6-Series / M6 models with or without navigation. The comprehensive Multimedia Video Interface integrates through a simple plug-in connection to enable the viewing of external video sources such as Backup Camera (provided in kit), front camera and a 3rd DVR input.
You can now upgrade your module to support CarPlay for 2004-2019 BMW 6-Series that are equipped with CIC, NBT or EVO systems. This comprehensive video interface module will integrate all the features of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto onto your existing BMW NBT command system. Once installed, the system is ready for use without any dealer activation or coding required and DOES NOT require any cutting or splicing of OEM cables.
The 6-Series has always been the low-volume grand tourer in BMW's range, which makes clear fitment information harder to find, so here it is. This kit serves 2004-2019 BMW 6-Series and M6 models, with or without navigation, putting a high definition reverse image on the original iDrive screen through a plug-in multimedia interface. Front camera and third DVR inputs are part of the same module, and no factory wiring is cut or spliced to install it.
Adding Apple CarPlay and Android Auto lets your favorite apps run on the 6-Series' own iDrive display, right alongside the camera features of the base kit.
The module lives behind the factory display and uses the existing radio harnesses, so the car can always be returned to stock.
There is no dealer activation step, the system works as soon as it is connected, and everything is protected by our 1-year warranty.
Long doors and a long tail make a 6-Series genuinely hard to judge in reverse, and the camera's 170 degree wide angle view solves that without altering a collectible interior. The flush mount unit sits above the license plate and holds its clarity in low light, and where the car carries PDC (Parking Distance Control) the sensors appear picture-in-picture next to the rear image.
Pick the adjustable-lens camera when the mounting spot calls for a custom angle, on the spoiler or bumper for instance, or when the car rides lower or higher than stock.
There is a front camera input on the module as well, triggered automatically when shifting out of reverse and timed out after fifteen seconds are up.
The phone link is wireless over Bluetooth, with a provided USB cord as the wired alternative.
Once CarPlay is up, the car's own buttons run the show, choosing music, adjusting volume, and summoning Siri or Google Assistant, for iOS and Android phones alike.
*Any 6er in the supported range qualifies for the CarPlay and Android Auto add-on, even CCC cars.

The 6er's head-unit history has a quirk no other model on this site shares, there is no 2011 US car at all, the E63 had bowed out and the next generation had not yet arrived. E63 and E64 cars from 2004 to 2008 run CCC, the 2009 and 2010 holdouts carry CIC, and when the F12 convertible, F13 coupe, and F06 Gran Coupe launched for 2012 they continued with CIC.
