This OEM Integrated BMW Rear-View Backup Camera kit fits all 2004-2020 BMW 5-Series / M5 models with or without navigation. The comprehensive Multimedia Video Interface integrates through a simple plug-in connection to enable the viewing of external video sources such as Backup Camera (provided in kit), front camera and a 3rd DVR input.
You can now upgrade your module to support CarPlay for 2004-2020 BMW 5-Series models. This comprehensive video interface module will integrate all the features of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto onto your existing BMW NBT command system. Once installed, the system is ready for use without any dealer activation or coding required and DOES NOT require any cutting or splicing of OEM cables.
BMW's midsize sedan is one of the most common retrofit requests we see, and the coverage here is unusually deep. This kit fits every 2004-2020 BMW 5-Series and M5, with or without navigation, spanning four iDrive command systems with a single plug-in interface. The rear camera image appears on the factory display automatically whenever reverse is engaged, and the module also supports a front camera plus a third DVR input, with no OEM cables cut at any point.
With the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto add-on, the interface brings your favorite apps to the sedan's original radio and display.
Many of these sedans came from the factory with parking sensors but no camera, and this kit closes that gap while keeping the car looking showroom stock. Installation is plug and play at the back of the original screen.

The flush mount camera mounts above the plate on the trunk lid, and whichever option you choose, the interface works with your factory PDC (Parking Distance Control) to show a picture-in-picture view alongside the rear image.
Standard Flush Mount Camera - perfect for mounting on the lip above the license plate. It has over 170 degree view of the area behind you and works great in low light.
Adjustable Lens Camera - provides a little more flexibility with the exact angle of its view. This camera is for those who want to mount it their camera in a location other than near the license plate, such as on the spoiler or bumper. It's also recommended if your vehicle is lowered or raised.
Tailgate Handle Camera - gives your vehicle the OEM look. These replace the current handle on the trunk of your vehicle to include the camera as part of the handle itself.
The module reserves an input for a front camera as well, switching to it automatically out of reverse and returning to normal after the fifteen second window expires.
Phones connect wirelessly through Bluetooth, and a USB cord is included for anyone who prefers the cable.
Volume, track selection, and voice assistants like Siri or Google Assistant remain on the sedan's own buttons while CarPlay is active, with iOS and Android both supported.

More than a decade and a half of production sits inside this kit's 2004-2020 window, and over that stretch the 5-Series carried four different command systems: CCC, CIC, NBT, and EVO. All four are supported here, and because BMW introduced each new unit by production date rather than on a single model year, we never ask you to read your system off a year chart. Tell the order form which of the four your sedan runs and the matching harness ships in the box. If the dash leaves any doubt, a photo of your live screen confirms the correct harness before anything is sent.
