This OEM Integrated BMW Rear-View Backup Camera kit fits all 2009-2019 BMW 1-Series / M1 models with or without navigation. The comprehensive Multimedia Video Interface integrates through a simple plug-in connection to enable the viewing of external video sources such as Backup Camera (provided in kit), front camera and a 3rd DVR input.
You can now upgrade your module to support CarPlay for 2009-2019 NBT / NBT-EVO ID4 models. This comprehensive video interface module will integrate all the features of Apple CarPlay / Android Auto onto your existing BMW NBT command system. Once installed, the system is ready for use without any dealer activation or coding required and DOES NOT require any cutting or splicing of OEM cables.
BMW built the 1-Series as its entry point, but the cabin electronics came straight from the bigger cars, which is exactly what makes a clean camera retrofit possible here. This kit adds a factory-look rear camera to any 2009-2019 BMW 1-Series or M1, with or without navigation, by tapping into the iDrive display the car already has. The same interface module accepts a front camera and a third DVR input, and installation never requires cutting a single OEM wire.
Add the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto option and your favorite apps run right on the factory radio and screen. The CarPlay and Android Auto option applies to all three supported systems, CIC included.

Because the 1-Series shares its head units with larger BMWs, nothing about this install is improvised, the harness plugs into the connectors behind your existing screen and the reverse image simply appears when the car is shifted into reverse. Your radio, Bluetooth, and iDrive menus stay untouched.
Dealer activation and coding are not part of this install, the module is ready to use right away. Each order ships with our 1-year warranty.
On a hatch-sized rear end the flush mount camera sits neatly above the license plate, with a 170 degree wide angle view that holds up well in low light. Where the car has PDC (Parking Distance Control), the module shows a picture-in-picture view of the sensors beside the camera image.
The adjustable-lens option suits lowered cars, and it is the right pick any time you want the camera aimed from somewhere other than the plate area, such as the spoiler or bumper.
A front camera can ride on the same module. Its image comes up on its own when you shift out of reverse, clearing itself once fifteen seconds have passed.

Your phone pairs wirelessly over Bluetooth, or you can use the included USB cord instead.
The factory buttons keep doing the work once CarPlay is running, skipping songs, adjusting volume, and calling up Siri or Google Assistant, with both iOS and Android phones fully supported.
** Both kits come with a the flush mount backup camera by default. If you do not want or do not need a backup camera, choose "none" in the camera option section below. Price will adjust accordingly.**
Across the 2009-2019 window this kit covers, the 1-Series ran three distinct iDrive command systems: CIC, NBT, and EVO. Which of the three a particular car carries follows from its build, not from a tidy model-year boundary, so we leave year charts out of it entirely. The order form simply asks which command system your car is running, and the module ships with wiring matched to that answer. If the controller wheel and screen layout leave you unsure which generation you own, send a photo of your powered-on radio before ordering.
