Mercedes GLE CarPlay / Android Auto System

This one kit covers a badge change. From 2012 to 2015 Mercedes sold its midsize SUV as the ML, then renamed it GLE for 2016 while keeping the W166 platform underneath. Our wireless CarPlay and Android Auto interface supports the full 2012-2019 run, both badges included, by working through the factory COMAND screen rather than replacing it. Setup involves no dealer coding and no cut wiring, just a module joined to the existing harnesses behind the display your SUV already carries.

Which Command System Fits Your ML or GLE

Head-unit history splits neatly at the rename. ML-badged W166 trucks from 2012 to 2015 carry NTG 4.5, and when the GLE name arrived in 2016 the SUV and the C292 coupe moved to NTG 5.1, which continued through 2019. That means every model year from 2012 through 2019 is covered with no gap, including the often-questioned 2018 and 2019 cars, they are NTG 5.1 and they fit. The range closes at 2019 because the following V167 generation runs MBUX, a newer factory platform this kit does not support. Since the two supported systems wire differently behind the screen, the order form asks which command system you have, and the interface images on this page make the identification quick.
